What can I serve to eat at 10PM??

I have a guest arriving this eve at about 10pm, they will have had a long drive and I know they wont have eaten. What can I serve at this time that isnt too much hassle?

Stick a jacket spud in the oven. If they don't fancy it when they arrive it's not too much waste to just chuck away.

I wouldn't chuck it away if they didn't eat it, I'd keep it for tomorrow - and a potato would lie heavy, that late at night.

I would do a plate of sandwiches, mixed breads and fillings, easy to prepare early and light to sleep on, goes with tea or coffee or something alcoholic. Garnish with radishes, cherry tomatoes, slices of cucumber and maybe quartered sweet lettuce hearts....now I am hungry.....

I'd go soup or omelette. Easy to prepare and easy to digest.

i would go with soup. I had a mate round yesterday and she had a long journey to get here so i made soup the day before and only had to heat it up when she got here....... easy :) we had crusty bread with it but if we had been really hungry i could have made rice and salad to go with it which only takes 20 mins....
