I met Gary Speed when the Welsh team were training nearby, when he was a player. He was a lovely man and had lots of time for photos and signings for the fans. What a terrible thing to happen. He leaves 2 young sons. I can't imagine what would make him take his own life when everything seems to be going for well for him. such a waste :-((((

I must admit I'm not a football fan but OH is and he was terribly shocked at this news. What a dreadfully sad thing to have happened, it does make you wonder why at such a comparatively young age and with everything (on the surface) going well for him. Such a sad loss for his family and for everyone who knew him.
