What is Candadian canoeing, and what position does a canoeist adopt when practising this sport? Many thanks for any explanation.

Hi, Canadian canoeing involves the canoeist kneeling in the open canoe rather than sitting and using legs for thrust.
The canadian canoeist also only uses a 1 bladed paddle instead of a 2 bladed used in kayaks etc.
I'm so sorry Brize to have taken so long in thanking you for your answer. I haven't even got a good excuse other than I totally forgot to check the site for an answer after a couple of weeks, as I didn't think anyone could help.. For some strange reason, I wasn't sent a reminder that I had an answer either. Anyway, many thanks again.
Indigenous peoples of Canada have spent their entire history in canoes, especially in the vast wilderness. Canadian canoes are not only the most adaptable and reliable form of transportation, they are also revered by Indigenous and Métis travelers as a symbol of connection, family and community.
