What a day. Poured with rain since about 2pm yesterday. Conditions will be more suitable for National Hunt rather than summer flat racing, particularly in your neck of the woods Ken. Haydock will be a quagmire. Nothing too ambitious today, just the usual 4 horse punt and the ITV7. Good luck if you are having a "look".

Awe @3/1 2.10 Newmarket.
Spirit Ridge @5/1 2.45 Newmarket.
Safe Voyage @2/1 3.35 Haydock.
Flavius Titus @6/1 3.55 Newmarket.

£2.00 Win Acca. 30p Doubles and Trebles. Total stake £5.00.
ITV7 the first 3 of the above with, Rose of Kildare 2.00 Bev, True Self 2.25 Hay, Intense Romance 3.00 Hay, & Summer Sands 3.15 Bev. £1.00 Win Acca on the 7. Cover bets may be taken if it starts badly. All things being equal that is a given.

Best of luck with those, Togo. Had a nice little touch with a 7 match acca last night to a £3.40 stake (loose change in my Sky account). Mind you, i was sweating on the outcome of the Norway v Romania match having done Romania double chance. They went 2-0 down, got one back about half way through the 2nd half but didn't equalise until well into injury time. Honestly thought the bet had boiled. £174 back for my £3.40:-)
Totally reliant on those who have proven ability on the underfoot conditions, today, wherever they are running. My main problem today is that i quite fancy a few of Johnston's runners - and you know what happens when i back his stable's inmates :-(

2.10 N'm; Blown By Wind @ 7/1
2.45 N'm; Lissitzky @ 7/1
4.10 Hay; Confessional @ 10/1
4.45 Hay; Whelan's Way @ 4/1

Win singles, 20p Lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £50, 4 winners = £4,379.
ITV 7; Rose Of Kildare, Blown By Wind, True Self, Lissitzky, Intense Romance, Oh Purple Reign, Safe Voyage. £1 e.w. acca, all placed = £27, all win = £9,037.
Lucky 7; Elerfaan, Mind The Crack, Three Coins, Gabrial The Wire, What A Welcome, Intense Romance, Safe Voyage. £1 acca (no e.w. available as incl 4 horse race) = £72,393.

Shot for last night Ken. Little fish are sweet.

Despite your close attention Johnson has started with a cross card double Ken. :))
Yeah :-) backed one, backed against the other.
And i just realised that your first did my first :-/
Question Author
Spirit Ridge died the death to cook my bet so a double on the last two is in order.

Summer Sands looks like "one to watch" Ken. Went on nicely there.
Backed it with my Johnston winner (Mind the Crack) - just those 2 in a 50p yank (With Elerfaan and Three Coins). Stake money and a bit more back, is all. As you said, it certainly does look like one to follow. Wouldn't totally surprise me if Richard Fahey ups it in trip - 5f at Bev is all uphill and it was definitely doing all it's best work in closing stages - never looked like stopping.

A very handy class 2 prize for only it's second run. The stable will be delighted with £24,900, and no doubt the owner.

Ahh well said the soul......ahh soul said the well. 3 out of 4 in my punt. Plus a nice cover double to gave me £106. That 4th winner would have been about £1200. Still......if I could do that every time I wouldn't complain.

On a roll so I do a little Trixie on the last races. Wise Councel, Desert Lantern, Stylehunter.
Nicely done, Togo - there's always one that gets away :-((
I've more or less broken even on the day with a few runners still to come tonight. Just about to have my tea, after which i'll be having a look at the football fixtures over in America that will be taking place as i snore my gonads off. No better feeling than to win money while packing the zzzzzzs in :-) It's like being paid to sleep.
