How do the various categories of mororcycle racing fit in the "pecking order" of things, e.g. MotoGP, W/BSB, TT etc?

World super bike is the top and is equivalent to F1, then MotoGP, which is more like touring cars. the TT is a "free for all" race on the isle of man.
I would say the top 2 are the other way round to Chuck. Moto GP is the pinnacle of racing with Superbikes being next. Moto GP bikes are cutting edge whereas I believe Superbikes can be bought on the high street.

Riders are always looking to move up to Moto GP and the ones that aren't quite up to it go into Superbikes.
i agree with Mattk superbike riders move up to moto gp 2 then moto gp
