This is crofter with Plan “C”, since it looks like our newly appointed regal setter in caslass is still unobtainable and we all hope that nothing untoward has befallen her! I believe that caslass is a West Ham fan (?) and no doubt will be watching the World Cup if at all possible. We must all sympathise with the Republic of Ireland who were denied a place in the finals thanks to “The Hand of Frog”!

I still think that the European teams will feature strongly in the competition and the winner should be found in the group: England, France, Germany, Spain. That’s where my money’s going! You will understand if (once again) I keep my preamble brief.

As for the every-day running of MM, I shall follow the usual rule on word length. Each of my chosen link words contains at least four letters and at most eight. Stray outside this range and you will be wasting one of your attempts! Each of my selected words may go in front of or after my challenge word. The competition will officially close at 7.00pm on Sunday evening when I shall declare my selected words, then apply the same rules for awarding points that have been applied during all MM Link Games in the past. This second set of four words to have their links predicted will appear below at 9.00am.
Good morning, crofter and all friends.
Not knowing one end of a football pitch from the other, I dread to think what's coming!
