Anybody who is still unsure whether to vote for UKIP or not in a few weeks time had better see this.

He wants to repeal anti-race discrimination laws ! This will never happen, of course, because Farage and UKIP will never win a General Election ! But the fact that he has said this, is still atrocious .

My Dad had to put with signs saying " No Blacks, no Irish and no dogs" when he was a young man in post war Britain. If Farage had his way, these signs would appear outside the factory gate, all over again.

A quote from the BBC link :::: When asked if he would retain a ban on discrimination on the grounds of race or colour, he said: "No... because we take the view, we are colour-blind. We as a party are colour-blind."

If anybody else wants a reason that Farage and his Party are constantly exposed to ridicule, they need look no further.

Firstly we are not in Canada or Australia, we are in the European Union that has a policy of free movement. Secondly there are areas that would not give an Eastern European or a Muslim or someone who is black a job because they don't feel that the individual is 'right for the job' ie not white anglo. That is wrong and we need to maintain these laws or what will be the...

Will this sort of thing attract voters who are not already in the UKIP camp?
One would hope not
Oh, sweet suffering Lord, here we go again!

Nigel's only mistake is that he forgot to say, "...and no whingeing Welsh Labour people!"

ichkeria...unfortunately, racism is alive and flourishing in Britain today. What Farage is unashamedly doing here is appealing to the racist vote. He is playing the racist card, quite openly. He would like to take us back to a time when anyone could discriminate against anybody else, of a different race or colour and get away with it. It won't happen of course, because he isn't going to win enough seats but its still shocking that he come out and said these things.

Its disgraceful. Farage has shot himself in the foot so many times over the last few years that you wouldn't have thought it was possible to do it again. But he has....amazing !

Jackdaw...Farage is saying that he wants to repeal race discrimination laws.

One simple question......are you supporting him or condemning him ? Try to answer without using childish racial slurs.

Oh, by the way, I am English, not Welsh.
I neither support nor condemn.

//" No Blacks, no Irish and no dogs" when he was a young man in post war Britain.//

Assuming your dad was not black, Irish or a dog, what's your problem?
Ok this is not 1950 and no one 'posts jobs on the front of factory gates' anymore. Farage is proposing nothing that isn't already in place in the popular emigration destinations of Australia and Canada. If stopping under skilled or low skilled workers from coming to the UK looking for work, while at the same time encouraging immigration of people with needed skills is discrimination then frankly bring it on. In Canada either have to have a job to go to that has been advertised in Canada and no Canadian has applied or is suitable,, or you have to invest an exceptional amount of money into a business or potential business. In Australia there is the famous 'points' system -you only get in if your particular skill is needed. These are not Fascist countries and if you go live there you will see a melting pot of people from all over the world living and working together. What is wrong with controlling immigration? It has nothing to do with colour that is a red herring - if jobs are offered to UK citizens before immigrants that could result in a Black or Muslim individual, born in the UK, given preference to a Caucasian fro Eastern Europe. One again the 'Shocked and Outraged bus pulls up at the Farage stop and the Left Wingers jump on waving their Racist Bigot flags in Glee. Perhaps they could close their mouths for a second and open their eyes and ears?
Its not Farage that has shop himself i the foot - the general voting public can see all this false 'outrage' and shock' from the other Political parties and will rebel.
Retrochic, respect!

Mikey, as you said yourself //This will never happen/// so I don't know what your problem is.

Jackdaw....not that this is really any of your business but my father was Irish.

I don't understand you. You either agree that anti-race discrimination laws are just or you do not. Its not an issue that you can safely sit on the fence over.

Retrochic....you are misunderstanding what Farage has said. He quite clearly and without any doubt whatsoever, wants to repeal anti race discrimination laws. Read the BBC link....that is what he said and you will be able to see it for yourself next week when the documentary is broadcast.

Do you agree that these laws should be repealed or not ? Yes or no ?

Naval...well deserved Best Answer...the voice of common sense.

Racial discrimination is plain wrong, although there are some people that seem to think it is still OK. It shows we haven't come as far from the 1950's and 1960's as we thought.
Question Author
Jordy...if you think that Farage is right and we should repeal anti race discrimination laws, that I'm afraid that people will come to the conclusion that ...yes ....you hold racist views.
Mikey, //the voice of common sense. //

Which means that in your book anyone who doesn't agree with you is talking rubbish.
Question Author
If anyone is agreeing that anti race discrimination laws should be repealed, then disagreeing with me is the last of their problems naomi !

But I take nothing back from my comments to naval...nothing whatsoever.
I abhor racism and always will do, and I make no apology or explanation for that.
