Got a family funeral today, a really dear old auntie (91)
Its been really difficult knowing what to write on the wreath-card. With the help of the internet I chose....

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal

What would you write?

Depends who it was for Jem. But that two liner is really nice, apt and true.
It always seems hard to find the right words.
At 91 your aunt had a good innings.
One card addressed to me that stood out....

'Your loss is Gods gain'

Yes she did have a good innings Sandy and she lived every minute of it. It was only 6 months ago that we saw she wasn't well. She was an inspiration to us all. RIP Aunty Alice.

I don't want to say who I would write this for, because he is wonderfully still alive & so very much loved, but there is a certain member of my family I would probably write this for:-

"If I have seen further, it is because I stood on the shoulder of a giant"

(It's a mis-quote of Isaac Newton.)

Thats lovely salla.

It so reminds me of the funeral of my nephew ten years ago now he was 36 and died of testicular cancer, He had a son 6 year old Cameron. My other nephew was there a tall 6ft 4 inches big guy.Cameron looked up at him tugged his jacket and said "Uncle Robert if I stood on your shoulders and stood on tip-toe would I be able to see my Daddy in heaven"?
As big as Robert is he said that broke his heart.

Out of the mouths of babes....
