...the Grand National is the longest steeplechase race,but which race is the second longest and how long is it...in the UK that is. thanks

There are 3 races are over 4 miles 1 furlong which are jointly the second longest janzman.
The Scottish Grand National run at Ayr,The Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter and the Eider Chase at Newcastle :-)

thanks mighty WBA.Im only wondering if there are so few races anywhere near as long then how do the horses (and jockeys) practise the stamina to 'stay the course'...you can tell I know next to naff all about this subject LOL
