I am asking for help again as I have always been lucky with advice on here and 'Help' doesn't always make sense to a tecnophobe like me! My old laptop's display died and I have a new one. I have the old hard drive in a caddy so I can see the old itunes files/folders but can only seem to copy my purchases and I can't face reloading all my CDs again! Can anyone help??

You need to tell itunes where the library is.
Go into iTunes preferences, Click the Advanced icon and you will see a box called iTunes media folder location. Click the change button, browse to your caddy mounted disk and find the folder called iTunes music and select.
You should now be OK
