Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Is there really no other thread? I thought this was a wonderful puzzle. Not quite as fiendish as I expected given the setter, but still a really tough challenge. The theme was familiar enough, although the creature itself long forgotten but, once enough evidence was assembled, it was only a Google away. And the final PDM was witty and well-concealed, resolving an early doubt. A perfect Listener, thanks Sabre!

The clues were on the easier side for a Sabre (which still means generally tough). I'd understood how to treat the four special clues long before identifying the creature which, for me, was the toughest part of the puzzle by far.

Despite having all but two clues solved, and a significant array of letter pairs from the codings, I have not the faintest about the creature or the thematic entries. More staring required...

When I go away for a week, I rather hope for an easier puzzle on my return, as I have little time to complete it. Well, not this time - it was a classic Sabre puzzle, using every trick in the book - and a few which probably aren't - to make it difficult. The creature eventually fell, but the modified entries were very tough indeed. Thanks, Sabre!
