On the occasion when we go out for a meal etc, my wife will ask "Should I wear the red outfit or the blue one"

If I suggest the blue one, her response is " what is wrong with the red one"

The implication is clear. Can it therefore be construed that "black lives matter" implies "white lives don't"

I suppose it is a case of what we say rather than what we don't say.

I must be bored once moew.

The correct answer is.... You look brilliant in both, but why don't I treat you to a new one.

once more.
No.
Which one of you is black?
Why has your wife got only two 'going out' outfits?
No. Choosing the blue dress does not mean there is a problem with the red one, just as saying black lives matter doesn't mean that white ones don't.

Shush Tilly, she might want to go shopping.

Only last year she wanted a new swimsuit. When I asked what was wrong with the old one, she said it's got holes in the knees, women eh.
Question Author
Wrong Mozz. She did say "what's wrong with the red one"
You actually go to restaurants where your wife has to dress up? Well I never :-)
Question Author
Dress down actually to mix in with the peasantry.
But there isn't anything wrong with the red one, at least that isn't why you chose the blue.

I prefer Football to Cricket, but that doesn't mean I hate Cricket and there's something wrong with it.
Question Author
Yes Mozz. But if you said to someone " I love cricket"

A possible response could well be " Not a football fan then"
but then the answer would be no I like football too
Question Author
Of course bednobs, but the question was put in the mind.
Then the response would be incorrect as I enjoy both. The idea that to support one thing has to be to the detriment of another is the issue. The problem isn't with the message, but with the incorrect interpretation of it.

The problem isn't with the message, but with the incorrect interpretation of it.

Exactly my point.
So why is it that some people won't take the point that saying that black lives matter doesn't mean that others don't?
The correct answer is.... You look brilliant in both, but why don't I treat you to a new one.
You use a dress metaphor.

The above article uses various metaphors: a burning house, a dinner, a plate, a disease, a loss, a law student ... see if it helps.
Question Author
It is extremely biased and helps not one iota.
