Looking through their web site just noticed this against one of the purses: "14 Day Offer £0.00 + £6.99 S&H = Total: £6.99 (Try Item for 14 days, that unless canceled before the end of the 14 day period, will be billed monthly at £84.00 per month until cancelled.)" So it look like you buy the purse for £6.99 then unless you cancel (not sure what) you get billed...

Moderator's note:
Posts from new members that include a link (or, at least, a web address) often seem to end up being a precursor to some sort of spam, so this thread is being watched.

However, if it's a genuine post, the actual web address isn't entirely clear from your post. If it's just shipstore.com (where the website is currently showing nothing more than "we'll be back"), the guy behind it is Jim Carroll, who also owns the domain name overtimephotobooth.com. Contact details can be found here:

If the web address is a different one, please make it clearer. (What's in your title line has a space in it, so it can't be a valid URL)

The address is https:// straighttohome-shipstore.com
The merchant order ID 87DAD635BA1A
The address given at the bottom of that web site is 24 Sylvia Avenue, Birmingham, B31 3LE.

If you go on Google Maps it is just an ordinary house.

If it was a scam I doubt they would put their home address.

On the other hand do you really want to deal with a company run from someone house?

Steer clear of them.
The more I investigate that company, the more I get concerned.

The website states that it's run by Signalimit Ltd, from 24 Sylvia Avenue in Birmingham. Signalimit is certainly registered at Companies House and that is, indeed, the registered address of the company. However, oddly (and worryingly), the Companies House website doesn't show the company as having any directors. Further, it was only set up on 14 February this year, so it's certainly not a well-established firm.

24 Sylvia Avenue is a semi-detached house on a Birmingham cul-de-sac. While it's not unusual for a small company to have its registered office at the home of a director, I have to wonder whether the people at that address actually have any knowledge of the company.

The phone number given on the 'Contact Us' page is '808-189-3133' which, as it stands, isn't a valid UK phone number. Further, it's presented in the way that a US phone number often is (which is a mistake commonly made by scammers in China, Nigeria, etc when they try to pretend that they're UK traders).

Further, the customer service times are quoted in US Eastern Standard Time (which, again, is a mistake often made by overseas scammers when they try to create a site that looks like it's in the UK but then use the same template as they do to make it look like they're trading in the USA).

The phone number on the website's webpage has '+44' in front of it though, which would mean that a '0' needs to go in front of it to create a valid UK phone number. (i.e. 0808 189 3133). However a bit of googling shows that number to be associated with the computer hardware company, Nvidia, which clearly has nothing to do with the suspect website.

The sales page makes references to 'Sales Tax' which, once again, is what one might expect to see on a US site (or one which is pretending to be based there), rather than on a UK one. That again suggests that a scammer has simply used the same template for his UK website as he does for his US ones.

The domain name for the website was registered via Go-Daddy's anonymising service, so that people can't see who's behind the website. (That's always worrying with any trading website).

The returns address given is actually that of a perfectly legitimate 'fulfilment service', which handles shipping and returns for companies. So it's possible that, rather than being a total scam, there might be a genuine company that aims to send out stock (and accept returns) using that service. So it might be worth asking them if they've got any contact with Signalimit Ltd (although I wouldn't be at all surprised if they said that they'd never heard of them):
http://www.rapidfulfillment.co.uk/contact-us/

If you're lucky, and Rapid Fulfillment Ltd actually knows something about Signalimit Ltd, there's just a (very) small chance that you might be able to get in touch with them. However I suspect that you've been conned by a scammer in China, Nigeria or somewhere, almost certainly meaning that the chances of getting your money back will be nil.

Sorry!
Looking through their web site just noticed this against one of the purses:

"14 Day Offer £0.00 + £6.99 S&H = Total: £6.99 (Try Item for 14 days, that unless canceled before the end of the 14 day period, will be billed monthly at £84.00 per month until cancelled.)"

So it look like you buy the purse for £6.99 then unless you cancel (not sure what) you get billed for £84 a month!

Against the other purse it says

"14 Day Offer £0.00 + £5.95 S&H = Total: £5.95 (Try Item for 14 days, that unless canceled before the end of the 14 day period, will be billed monthly at £82.00 per month until cancelled.)"

So this one is £82 a month.

When you go to order a purse it mentions a "Monthly Membership" (not sure what of) so that is where the £82 or £84 pounds PER MONTH comes in.

Verging on the criminal I think.

Needs reporting to trading standards.
Sheesh - that's nasty.

Unless you can prove you have returned the original 'free' item before the cutoff date (not easy), you are deemed to have signed up for £84 per month - for an an indefinite period.

For this they send you an undefined 'purse' each month - until you can cancel - which I bet is not easy either.
If you HAVE bought a purse from them I would contact your bank to see if money is going out your account to them.

If it is then try to get the bank to stop it, or to put a "stop" on money going to this company (though to be fair I am not sure if they can do that).

If you do nothing then this is going to cost you over £80 a month until you cancel or stop the payments.

@15:27
Surprised there is no
www.
in the address
I think you can leave the www off a web site address when you type it in your browser.

Most (all?) browsers are clever enough to add the www prefix themselves.

Try it with bbc.co.uk and google.co.uk
The Bank will cancel your card and issue a new one (RBS) do this. Don't know about others. They wont get at your money. Good luck.
What was the outcome.
