How long should it take to download a programme (eg episode 1, series 1 of game of thrones)? Surely I don't have to wait the actual time, it'll take forever to do the whole lot!. I thought it would just be like normal recording.

You are downloading it from the internet (via your router) so it all depends on your broadband speed.

Also there is normally a choice of the HD version of the SD (normal) version and the HD version will be FAR larger, and hence take longer to download.

If possible try to download the "normal" SD version.
