My current unverified paypal account has a limit on how much you can receive and withdraw.

Inorder to get verified and have this limit taken off, it asks to set up a direct debit. Does it cost anything to get verified or is it just to link your bank account with paypal, which i thought mine already was.

Also if I cant get verified cananyone tell me whether this will work:

have an amount I want to withdraw into my bank account but obviously my limit for this period has been reached so it wont let me. Would it work if i were to send the money to either my wife or someone I know, as a gift, and then just get them to transfer the amount from their bank account?

thanks

Doesn't cost anything.
To verify your account they will pay two small amounts into your bank account. Once these go in you have to go back to your paypal account and enter these amounts. Your account is then verified. It doesn't cost anything.
If you transfer the money to a relative, it will take three days to get into their account then another three for them to transfer the money to you.
