i have skitsophrenia and 1 problem of the illness is that u feel very guilty for things (sometimes that youve not even done wrong) i have a child out of marrige and feel guilty every time i have sex with my partner. I dont really no what my question is but can any one offer advice so i dont feel so bad all the time
Question Author
is it classed as a new sin every time u have sex (with the same partner) out of marrige?
I've found determining responsibility an essential first step to dealing with certain problems. Religion is typically a cop out.
Schizophrenia....

Have you let him back then?

I've got 3 kids out of marriage. They are happy, I'm happy and my partners happy. I bring them up well, they are loved and are taught manners. I try my best to be a good Mum and a good person.

Worth much more than a marriage certificate....
r u having a relationship with the mother of your child? Not wed.....easy - go to Registry office & make child legally yours. If not & you're separated from mother & child and with a new OH - nothing wrong there, so long as you pay required maintenance for child.

Your guilt is unfounded.....but use protection if you dont want more children.

i fink im a very good mum my little boy is very well behaved and has lovely charicter. obviously when i get really ill i find it quite hard to cope but i have a good network of support around me. I do think i am a good person and im always trying to improve myself because i wasnt a very good person before i came a mum but ive settled down now and always try to do the right thing. No i havent let him back but he rang me not long ago and wants to sort things out. If we do get back together i think there are a few things i need to sort out aswell before we do
Well the things you mention are more important than marriage. Think about positive things about yourself. If you believe in God then he will know the effort you're making.
Remember that men made religion, sacha, so don't let it screw with your mind. Just do what you feel is right for you and yours, and be happy. x
the greatest sinner is the illness over which the sufferer has no control, so you can absolve yourself and do your best. the manifestations of the illness are no more yours or anyone elses fault than the consequences of cancer or heart disease are over others.

you need to take steps to find stability in your life which is crucial to a person with your condition or any with an unquiet mind. try to work yourself to be loving and secure instead of angry and afraid or guilt ridden. focus on the importance of taking your meds regularly (if you are) and keeping stress levels low. find out everything possible about the illness in order to understand and to help others with the same if you can. share experiences. feeling guilty, while it could lead to better self-knowledge (through self awareness of ones actions towards others, not a deity), is hardly helpful to the situation.

i havent taken meds for years (because i find them to unbearable to cope with for little benifit) but i have started taking anti deppressents about a week ago, which should ease my sycotic symptom (as the sycotic symtoms make my depression worse and vise versa). I have had skitsophrenia since i was 15 but didnt get diagnosed till i was 19. Since then my life has improved alot as now i no there is something wrong with me i realise there are things i can do to help myself. I moved house into a quite area i keep myself to myself, i eat well i keep myself out of stressful situations as much as possible, ive settled down, i keep a routein and try to keep a good sleeping pattern. All these thing help keep my condition under control and since have never been as ill as in previous years. I now try to talk about my problems and have a very good understanding of my illness. But when i get ill i think i can here the devil and god battling in my mind and its very hard not to believe that it is real. Asspecially as i believe in god, when i get ill believe maybe i just see things on a different level to other people and its hard to see it as an illness sometime. Alot of the time i think doctors just call it an illness so they can put a lable on something they dont understand
as you say, this battle is going on in your mind. the important thing is that you learn to try to separate what is going on in your own head and what is happening in reality, this is the crux of your condition. whilst many believe in god and whatnot, few really see this imaginery battle betwen god and the devil as actuality, more a metaphor for life i think. thinking about the good and evil ding dong will just enhance stress. it is counter productive. if you are a believer as you say, then perhaps focus on the good that exists in/out of religion rather than the bad.

i think you really be ought to talking to a specialist professional, or a support help group. if your antipsychotic drugs are not woring then you should discuss this with your gp. plenty of proper help available if you really are looking to understand your self more or get better.

i do get profesional help from mental health nurse and am due to see yet another sycatrist in the next couple of months but i never really get help with the religious side of things.
your question was 'can any one offer advice so i dont feel so bad all the time'.

i think we have tried to do exactly that. if you have deeper issues that relate to your beliefs then you need to discuss these with the professionals as well.
