This may come as a surprise to some men - but that's what breasts are for....!
I breastfed both my children back in 1982 until 1985. I did it in public, proudly though discreetly. I got some disapproving looks, mostly from the elderly generation, but on the whole it was looked on favourably I think. I didn't flob my babs out shamelessly and on full public display with nipples here there & everywhere - there are ways of making it not look so obvious...
I think as long as a nursing mum is descreet, there is no problem at all.
Some people find it offensive, and mums need to be sensitive to their feelings - by definition, public space belongs to everyone.
I would only object if a mum weas making a bing deal out her feeding, and using it to make a point to people - but that applies to any self-aggrandising behaviour in public.
I always tried to find a baby room if I was out and about but sadly there aren't that many and usually only space enough for one person. So if it was feeding time, it was feeding time!!
As long as you're descret then there's no problem.
No need to get your t1ts out in public, it just says "look I am a woman and I have fulfilled my womanhood and natural biological function by having and breast feeding a baby."
Breast feeding being natural misses the point.......sh@gging is natural, but not in public.
For Pete's sake 3hourly feeding can surely be fitted in at home.
What is more objectionable is mothers with newborn babies smoking and some even when they are feeding them.
its very difficult to notice if a woman is actually feeding or having a cuddle most of the time.
As long as they dont have everything flapping about and on display i dont see a problem with it at all.
I must admit that before i had kids (i didnt BF) i had a different view but now i dont really notice when my friends feed their children when we are having a chat.
Not everyone feeds baby on the perfect 3-hour schedule. I know I didn't .
I think it is up to women-and women only-when and how they choose to feed their babies. And to call it exhibitionism is all wrong. It is not in the same category as sex....but thats the problem with those who don't like it. They are unable to seperate the practical from the attraction when it comes to breasts.
I demand fed my children in the first few months - you can;t just say to them, hold on love til I get home so I don't have to get my t1ts out and offend some prehistoric old men....
You're right - smoking pregnant women and smoking Fag Ash Lil mothers with babes in arms isn't right. But we're talking about breasts here.
You, my man, are being deliberately provocative this week methinks? Are you not getting your oats quota?!
pasta....think of all the births in your area per week and compare the number of mothers feeding their neonates in public. The vast majority feed them at home.
salla...." demand feeding is another modern invention, it will change in 20yrs time. "Provocative?..moi?
