I read this today and couldn't help wondering what you all think of it.

Personally, I agree with every word.

To them it is deontology based on their moral ethics.
No, it isnt. Jehovahs Witnesses believe its a direct commandment from God, and that he has specifically forbidden them from taking blood in any form, including that of animals as food. To do so is a sin, and if any one of them willingly accepts blood, then he is no longer a Jehovah's Witness. These are the relevant biblical texts they cite.

Genesis 9:3-4
Only flesh with its soul-its blood-you must not eat.

Leviticus 17:12-14
.No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.

Acts 15:29
Abstain from ... from blood.

Acts 21:25
keep themselves from blood

Yes dear, as I said, deontology - the divine command.
They believe they are acting morally in following Gods will as they see it.
The definition of the word isn't 'the divine command', but moreover 'duty or obligation based on ethics'. However, if you want to employ that theory in this instance, ok, I can see what you mean.
Well if it helps you understand that Everton was correct.

No, Octavius, Everton is not right. Jehovahs Witnesses refusal of blood goes a lot farther than morality, which is what Everton ascribed it to. If youre now saying that Everton was correct, then by your definition of deontology, youre contradicting yourself.

It is, as I said. Try this. Second and third paragraphs.

By the way, Octavius, youre not really a man of your word, are you. After only two days, your declared preference to keep yourself to yourself has failed miserably.
Harsh words Naomi, is there really any need?

I shall therefore advance post-haste to keep myself to myself.
No harshness intended. Your presence here was somewhat surprising, that's all.
Genesis 1:28: "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth."

just rember man wrote the bible, they wouldent of wrote god said leave everything like it is dont cut down trees, drestroy land, and so foth would they. the bible gives man what it wants peace of mind. its a secuity blanket for adults
