It is in the Daily Mail and its basis is on a report made by The Sun, so it must be true. How does the black clad (dead) Roman soldier killed by the road (presume that is a guess) know to haunt the brand new morgue?

Not Im afraid. Just another case of argumentum ad populum
It doesn't say the Roman solder was 'killed by the road'.

It says: There is speculation that the figure could be a Roman soldier killed there as the old Derby City General Hospital was built in the 1920s over part of a Roman road.

Believe it or not? I don't know.

I believe it Octavius, It could have been disturbed during the building of the new morgue. Its the land thats apparently haunted by the roman. Too many people have seen him for it to be imagination. Thats my opinion anway:-)

Hi naomi, I think we should keep an open mind about things like this dont you?
So Naomi, are you saying that the Roman soldier was killed as they built the hospital in the 1920s. Was he run over and killed by a JCB?!

china, if you believe it then thats entirely up to you. Do you also believe int he power of exorcism then?
I see different people all the time Just out the corner of my eye. Then when I look again there is nobody there. And I dont even believe in ghosts. Not sure what its all about.
Yes, I do, chinadog - which is why I say I don't know.

Octavius, you can read the report as well as I can. It says what it says, but you're misquoting it and making it into something it isn't. Just thought I'd mention that.

Yes I believe in the power of exorcism as done by the church. I believe in the afterlife as well. Of course a JCB did'nt kill the roman, you're just being sarcastic Octavius.

Wiz, out of interest, did you ever discover what was happening in your house last year?
-- answer removed --
Wiz, an old lady died in one of the bedrooms in my mum and dads house. She wasnt discovered for about a month. We never had any disturbances, so I presume she was happy with the building work we did, the dcor and choice of bedding.

Chinadog, you said above that too many people have seen (him) for it to be imagination. How many people have seen him exactly, and how many people does it take for it to be believed?
Perhaps all they need to do is convince him that it's too late for a defibrillator . . .

Sorry, couldn't resist! . . . ~o">

Octavius, how many people does it take for it to be believed?

Hardly a fair question to a believer. How would she/he know? That's got to be one for an unbeliever to answer.

Mibs, haaaaaa! You'll have all the exorcists on the dole queue at this rate! :o)

Wiz, phew! :o)

Not really, chinadog said that too many people have seen him, I was just wondering how they knew how many people had seen him. If it is as you say, then one sighting would be enough for a believer.

Wiz, it was late 50's/60's and quite remote, although I do wonder why nobody even bothered to check up on her. I am sure the house was very thoroughly cleaned up before my mum and dad bought it, so most of the smell would have gone I hope.
Octavius, Ah, I see what you mean. I misunderstood you.
I don't think the hospital should bring in an exorcist. I think it's really cool that they have a resident ghost. They should keep their ghost, not try to banish it.
