It's Ouija - and no they don't work under any circumstances
Don't fiddle with spirits. I once did , there were three of us, fingers on an upturned glass, the usual invocations, and the glass spelled a word on a clock of letters. Nobody was pushing, at one point we had 2 people lift their fingers off the glass. The word spelt was GEHENNA. Only one of us knew what it meant, and his finger was off the glass at crucial moments. It was very frightening.

Don't play with the occult.
why do you have to have your fingers on the cup if no one moves it, can it not just move itself?
Exactly Cazzz!!!

Thanks Ethel for correcting me!

And interesting bodylice, i know what GEHENNA means, thats not a good thing for it to spell...lol.. i would have pooped myself!
Have no truck with the supernatural - in any shape or form.

cazz.... i think it has something to do with energies of the person doing it, not sure though!
Wouldn't

HELL

have been quicker and easier to spell?
my mum did it once with friends at work when she was young.
They apparently got in touch with the spirit of hanratty and they were all very traumatised by it.

she did try it a second time, a few years after and whatever it was that was "talking " to her and my dad was answering all their questions, so my nan asked them to ask it what her first school teacer had been called (something neither my mum or dad knew. they got the correct reply.

Octavius... what a clever way of letting everyone know that you knew what it meant! Clap Clap! lol
some friends of mine done a ouija board in their house and after that a different family member every night was woken up at exactly 2 in the morning by a black shadow hovering above their beds and on the last night the daughter was woken up by the shadow and she was paralysed with fear when she felt an ice cold hand brush across her face and an evil isey voice whispered into here ear... '''you dont f**** with the dark side'' needless to say they couldnt sleep there anymore and soon moved out! (true story!)

gamegirl, are you not going to put us out of our misery and tell us what gehenna means?
The glass needs to know you are there, and it gets vitalised by your fingers. I thought everybody knew that silly. At one point there was just my finger on the glass and it was pulling AWAY from me so hard that I had to stand up from my chair and lean forward. We were above a butcher's shop as well!

hes right though, "Hell" wouldve been easier
Question Author
GEHENNA Is a Jewish word for hell!
We were above a butcher's shop as well!

bodylice maybe the spirit was trying to tell about the butchershops crazy new years prices-2 chickens for the price of one etc...
And for the non-Jewish population, far easier to comprehend, no? Was the spirit Jewish?
Question Author
Yeah, Hell would have been easier, but if you read back you'll see that Bodylice said the word spelt was GEHENNA, and i was just saying that i knew what it meant!
cool!
I only mentioned the butcher's shop because it added the atmospheric aromas of slaughtered poultry and lard which were not adequately masked by red wine and incense sticks.
Question Author
Who are you asking Octavius? me.. bodylice did the board not me. But i would have thought, that the spirit was jewish, if it was using that term for it.. but thats just my opinion.
