I heard a radio chat show last week in which a cleric of the C of E described homosexuality as being 'an abomination.' This really annoys me for several reasons. 1) The world has many, many homosexuals, so on the scale of unusuality, it would be seen as a common condition. 2) Homosexuality is not a lifestyle choice, it just is what it is. I could no easier have a gay relationship myself (as a hetro) as a homosexual could have a hetrosexual relationship. It is equally as unimaginable. 3) What business is it of anyone else? 4) Why do people of the cloth always seem to have such closed, bigoted minds?
What do you all think?

Aah.........your true colours, Ghetto poet.

What is it about me that you find so threatening ?

Please have the decency (!?!) to keep my son out of this. He's not here to speak for himself, and you certainly have no right to try and do it for him.

disgusting not threatening people like you should not be allowed anywhere near young people. if i had my way you would be in a cage. pervert
Ok, so now we have moved on from the religious viewpoint to the moral/immoral issue and now on to personal abuse.

The degeneration of threads to mud-slinging and name calling really probably only belongs in Chatterbank at 2am.

Its not really comfortable reading for the rest of us, and not very interesting either. Any chance we can bring it up a level and have seasoned debate? Or has this thread run its course and died a death? Is it a circular argument that just needs to end?

There is no point into trying to talk to a bigoted fool like you, ghetto poet.

However, I think that you'll find people will be less likely to listen to you now that you have shared with us the workings of your tiny over-heated mind.

Perhaps you might find it easier to talk your repressed feelings through with someone more qualified. You'll find it lifts a weight of your mind to 'name the ghost'............and the you won't have to protest too much.
Get off the high horse, Octavius. GP's remarks were obviously gratuitiously offensive and he's been deservedly called on it.

I think that the things are getting a bit too bad so we better leave as it is. In the end all of us are giving our views and there is no point to humiliate anyone because of the reason what and how people think. So my feeling is that lets call it a day on this thread. Please.
I am going away as my 4th wife is calling me. lol
Keyplus - not sure what point you were trying to make by quoting me - but thanks anyway!

Octavius - I would also think it was wrong to be attacked because of your religion - so i think we're in agreement on that point.
*Flecking Heck !
I apologise if all of that was because I called GP to account........still it was as I expected from him.

Ignorant bigotry of the first order dressed up as indignation, originally aimed at the estimable naomi, and spewing forth with such vitriol.............what a sad man.
My high horse Waldo?

I was merely making attempt to bring the discussion back to the generic points.

I agree that GPs comments are offensive and ill-placed, sometimes you need a cool arm in the heat of debate to calm everyone down.

If you dont like that, then fair enough Ill go away.

Cheers.
