I just got this new job and my boss is from India and his wife and father also work with me. I need to learn more about the religion and beliefs. At times I am not sure how to act, talk, or dress around them. He is a really nice man, I just want to be sure not to offen him or his family. I have only worked there 1 day and tonight I will be working alone with him. I just don't feel like I know him enough to ask about his religion and beliefs. If I could get link to a good site from someone that would be great. If you have anything to offer to help me that would be great as well.

Just be you. If you have a question then ask him!!! say do you mind if I ask you a question? then ask it.

Of course, the best thing you could possibly do is go to India if you have a natural curiosity about that country. Where is he from there?
Are you sure he's not British?

Ask! Ask! Ask! don't ever walk on eggshells around him.

I believe that would offend him.

Live your life hon. We are not here to pussyfoot around our curiosity.

I am not sure where he is from. But if I do have questions then I will be sure to ask him. Thanks beryllium
I think it might be an idea to find out what part of India he is from i.e. Maharashtra, Gujrat, Punjab, etc etc
Then it will be easier to find out about him.
India is so huge that people from different parts are as different as Italian, Greek , Spainish etc etc
The food is different, culture and language. If you can find out which part they are from it will help alot.
Just be yourself and your boss should make allowances for any unintentional gaffs that you make. After all, anyone choosing to come here from abroad to live accepts that we have our own culture and upbringing and the onus is on them to respect that and to fit in.

If you want to learn about your boss's background and culture, then tell him that you are interested and ask him directly. Your boss will probably be more than happy you are interested and I'm sure only too pleased to answer any questions. Any gaffs on your part will be accepted and he shouldn't take any offence. If you do make any, then you will both probably laugh about them when he explains.

Hope that helps and gives you some confidence.
