Saint Saviour.

I have recently joined a church called St. Saviour's and I can't find out anything about him. I mean we all know about St. Peter, St. Mark, St. John, etc., even St. Swithin - whose day it is today - but can anyone tell me, please, who was St. Saviour and what is his story?

Thank you, Prophet, that would account for why there are no statues in the church recognisable as anyone other than Our Lord. I didn't like to ask the Vicar, because I felt somewhat ignorant!
