how serious are youth groups at churchs getting people to join?

i have been looking to join a youth group at a church i called the person that was in charge of the youth group and she said that she would get back to me i know that it was only yesterday that i spoke to her but do you think that she will get back to me the reason i ask this is because i have never been to a youth group at a church and i do not know what to think.

One of my sons joined a C of E youth group when he was 13, (he is now 20).
It was a good thing for him to do. He was socialising with really nice people, and he quickly assumed the attitude that he could serve the youth group, as well as it serving him.
I think that only good will come from you joining.
