My son was born overseas and his birth registered at the British Consulate in Dusseldorf. We have since lost his birth certificate. Can anyone tell me how to get a replacement?

If you are British subjects the birth will have been notified to the General Register Office and you will be able to obtain copy certificates from them. They have a website to order copies on line or your local Register Office will be able to advise

Apologies - should have been more precise and said "if you were British subjects at the time of his birth"
