Pakistan has just tested a long range missile capable of deploying a nuclear payload. It is not all over the media and the US and Britain have not denouncedht e Pakistanis. There is no talk of UN sanctions. Pakistan are considered to be on our side

Contrast that with the on-going Iran story. Iran are not considered to be on our side.

You cannot have uniform policy in these matters. You have to react based on the protagonists in question. Pakistan haven't publicly declared that they would like to erase another country, Iran on the other hand is run by extremist nutters who would not hesitate to use nuclear weapons if they had them. You are not seriously suggesting, that because some nations have nuclear weapons we should not complain if any nation seeks to acquire them.

Yes we can't have unstable countries having nuclear weapons. They should be left in safer hands like the USA.
so iran is run by religious nutters?????
and george bush is a rational us president,
eehhhhhh,,,,,,

Pragmatism is the key. Ideally it would be different, but we have to be pragmatic.
sheer hypocrisy gromit, one is not a 'good' story the other one is. loosehead & fender ' iran is run by extremist nutters' so we are told, ' iranian president would like to wipe israel off the map' so we are told. http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context =viewArticle&code=NOR20070120&articleId=4527 ahmadinejad has a phd and is hardly a nutter (bush on the other hand) he also has nothing to do with iranian foreign policy, that is the job of his superior the supreme leader khamenei, who's statement's never get reported, like when he says iran supports the arab league position on israel-palestine that proposes normal relations with israel if it accepts the international consensus of the two state settlement, which has been blocked by the u.s. and israel for the past thirty years. that aparently, is not a good story. ' bush never stated he would enialate any country but the iranian president did' so what did exactly just happen in afghanistan, iraq and lebanon?
