Is The New Radicals song "You get what you give" a remake? Or maybe the tune is of a different song from the 80"s? If so, who sang it then? (My mom swears she remembers it but doesn't remember who it was?)

New Radicals - You get what you give was written by Gregg Alexander (lead singer) and Rick Nowels and was a hit in 1999. It was not a cover but I have no idea what song she may think it reminds her of
It's always reminded me very much of an earlier song too. never been able to place what it is.
Gregg Alexander is a pop genius and he definitely knows how to right catchy pop records.
The first lesson in writing a good pop record is to make people think they have heard your song before but cant quite place it. It seems You Get What You Give has passed that first test (with your mum at least!)
