naomi - // AZardoz, //And TL's alter-ego speaks at 11:45.//

Theland isn't Goodlife. //

Although confusion between the two is completely understandable!!

Maybe I was a tad cruel. I just despair at the endless cut and paste from some obscure periodical. Not to mention endless bible verses.
Sparklykid - I don't cut and paste from the bible.
No, you are not a tad cruel.
We are all grown ups and should all be capable of taking part in robust discussions.
I enjoy the input from all, believers and atheists alike.
I always manage to learn something, even if it is critical of me, which it often is, but there is never any malice, and I like to think we are all friends.
Sparkly //I just despair at the endless cut and paste from some obscure periodical //
Yes, I do copy and paste. We live in the 21st C and with modern technology many people c & p. But what I c & p is from the Bible, which can put things much better than I can.
The fool says in his heart there is no God. That's in the Bible. Throughout human history belief in a God or Gods has been almost a given, but of course we are much more enlightened now.
You could not even breathe without God.
Within a few years atheism will not be a credible viewpoint.
Watch this space!
what if you believe in spirit, and not the bible and jc...just love with sin taken out..
//The fool says in his heart there is no God.//
And the wise man shouts it from the rooftops.

//You could not even breathe without God//
I manage perfectly fine.
//But what I c & p is from the Bible//
NO. What you copy and paste if from The Watch Tower publications.
Ive had many interactions with J.W's over the years and their main source of information has been from Watch Tower publications. Not the Bible. Its almost as if you dont read the Bible but rather extracts from it via Watch Tower..
Its frightening how people can be so relieved of their own free will to rationalize. Stockholm Syndrome srings to mind!!
Nailit, Have you ever read Plato's Allegory of the Cave?
It just might help
goodlife - // Are you realist? Most of you would like think you are. //

We would - because we are.

It's you who keeps posting your endless doom, and gloom looking down on everyone who doesn't agree with you.

I don't think you'd recognize reality if it jumped up and bit you.
//Nailit, Have you ever read Plato's Allegory of the Cave?
It just might help//
I have actually.
But what is it supposed to help me with.
Why do you suppose that I need help??
fiveleaves, //Within a few years atheism will not be a credible viewpoint.//

Why? What do you expect to happen?

//Have you ever read Plato's Allegory of the Cave?//

Who is chasing shadows? Think about it.
fender - I believe in spirit. Not too sure about God, but I believe Jesus existed, not necessarily as the Son of God, but as a very charismatic man that people wanted to follow.
Burlyshirly - not too sure about God?
Think of a first cause for everything.
That is a good starting point.
For goodness sake stop, Theland. This is becoming ridiculous. If there was a first cause no one knows what it was - you included.
No thanks Theland, I don't dwell on it that much !
Naomi, f you don't like my posts, don't read them, and certainly don't respond to them.
You presume too much, like your assertion that nobody knows.
YOU don't know, and never will, but that does not mean others don't have more knowledge than you.
Your knowledge, or lack of, is not a universal standard.
Do try not imposing your atheism on others.
You don't know. You simply don't.
Well it strikes me as a bit odd that some folk on here complain about being lectured about religion and the belief in God ; yet start a thread about the very same subject
