Having clearly in mind the goals set by Jesus will help us not to become discouraged in the face of indifference.

Jesus wanted his true disciples to search out deserving ones, not to perform mass conversions. No, On several occasions he pointed out that the vast majority would not accept the good news, just as most Israelites did not listen to the prophets of old.— Mark 4:14-20.

Since there is certainly no one human who knows all the answers, in order for us to make progress we must have some dissent even at the cost of unity.
So how is it ever going to be possible to unite mankind? Since we are free moral agents, our future will always keep company with the disunited.
What possible force is there that could unify all mankind? You will remember that the point was made that the “good news” unites mankind. (24:14)
Douglas ....we are talking about the CAUSES of war. Surely you cannot attribute the Holocaust as causing WW2.
Jaysus!
^^^ ???
//Since religion is a major factor, if not the prime cause of every war there has ever been, maybe Good News can be found anywhere where religion is not.

I am a living example of that argument.//
Still likes a good argument though. Haha sorry ah. Had to be done.

The expression “good news” appears more than 120 times in the Christian Greek Scriptures.—Rev. 14:6.
I stand corrected. ^He's not preaching. :o)
Goodllife - "Since there is certainly no one human who knows all the answers..."

Don't be so humble Goodlife! Assert yourself for heaven's sake! We're aware that you know the answers to all the *big* questions as they're contained within the pages of the, "New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures". For if all the answers were not contained within the pages of this enlightened tome, why would you continually attempt to show us unbelievers the errors of our ways by quoting this particular biblical scripture?

Surely you think that your particular biblical book is the final revelation of truth? Otherwise why quote it endlessly on this website? Your question is surely rhetorical as *you* clearly know all the answers as you've gleaned them from your particular holy scripture - the one *true* holy scripture - the rest being false scripture that has no merit...
JWs are not Christians as they do not believe Jesus was the son of God.
Also, their bile bible is not a reliable translation of the original documents.
I agree Theland (the JWs ) do not believe in the "Trinity",and that is only for starters.

In addition there are many "strange" things which they do believe, which they get from their own rather badly translated Bible.

I am glad to have some support in my views about them on this site.

Reason (not force) is the defining attribute that unites us in our common humanity. Reason is the only viable means of productively addressing the issues that divide us, apart from which the initiation of force becomes the only remaining alternative.

and if the pictures of fluffy bunnies don't make you feel better, (uplifted even) then you are a sad person goodlife.
SirOracle/Theland, You two disagree on doctrine, but nevertheless you join forces to say Goodlife isn’t a Christian - and he says that he’s a Christian but neither of you are. Can you honestly not see how daft it all is?

You live in a world without answers or good news. thousand years of human history have proved that. Nor has this present dazzling world of science come up with answers to the pressing questions hanging over the head of this generation.

Consider a few of the many.
Why the of honesty, lack of integrity, religious hypocrisy, collapse of the family, divorce on any whim, neglected children, no natural affection, selfishness, rudeness, me-ism, sick sexual perversions, revolting child molesting, spreading violence, increasing lawlessness, international terrorism—on and on the listing could go of things for which this world has no answers. It has a bumper crop of questions but a crop failure of answers.
How aptly Jesus foretold this very time in which we are living when he said: “On the earth anguish of nations, not knowing the way out”!—Luke 21:25.
Goodlife, What did jesus have to say about Oryctolagus cuniculus

Many people envy the happy ones, wanting to be that way too (Ps. 144:15)
goodlife, do you know true happiness? the kind of happiness that means not having to kow tow to a jealous god? that means not feeling guilt about underachieving with your conversions quotient? that means putting your feet up and watching rugby with a pint of guinness? When William Webb Ellis came to Earth no one foresaw that he would change the world for the better and make millions happy...not even jesus.

jomifl @ If you know your Bible, jealousy can mean a proper zeal for what is right. Even Jehovah is referred to as “a jealous God,” true, which means he is zealous for his good name, for truth and for righteousness. His devoted servants are also on occasion described as jealous.—Exodus. 34:14;

As you don't know Jehovah’s people, we have been blessed with the knowledge of the truth about God’s purpose for mankind and the earth. We have the means to help people find happiness and a sure hope for the future.

We can point them to the way to stay safe when destruction comes upon Satan’s system of things. (2 Thess. 1:7-9) Rather than feel frustrated or discouraged because that day seems to be delayed, we should be glad that there is still time for us to be zealous for true worship.

I too like a pint of guinness and fugby.
