Pehaps goodlife could consider that as the the Old Testament is for Jew and the New Testament is God,s word meant for true christians, that the rest of us have moved to the next stage where none of the books of the Bible apply.

The phrase ‘The Ten Commandments’ definitely exists within the bible most people read. Strange how Goodlife can in one breath use scripture to illustrate his alleged superior knowledge – but in the next dismiss scripture because, whilst the content appears to have suited the central character in the saga, who was Jewish, and instructed his flock to keep the law, it didn’t suit the imposter, Paul, the true founder of the farce we call Christianity. Goodlife, your "easy" way of learning is easy because it is simplistic and lacks any connection to reality.

You have also reconfirmed that intellectual laziness is a primary driver of religious faith. It is suited to those who can't be bothered thinking and prefer to uncritically accept the drivel that is fed to them by those whose primary motivation is to manipulate them into compliance with their will.

That laziness is also why your posts almost entirely consist of quotes from the Bible that are largely irrelevant to the topic of discussion.

If you realize that what everybody thinks is not necessarily correct, you can find the strength to think differently. While it may seem that all you lot think the same way, Popular opinion is not a reliable barometer of truth. Over the centuries all kinds of ideas have been popularly accepted, only to be proved wrong later.

Can you not see, that the natural Israelites or Jews, who were bound to the Mosaic Law by birth, Christians remain under the law of the Christ by choice, a fact such as race and place of birth being irrelevant.

Today people learn about Jehovah and his ways. And this law is called “the law of the Christ.” It was first given, not to the nation of natural Israel, but to true Christians. (Romans 2:28, 29)

Jesus, the mediator of the new covenant, never wrote down a single law. Instead, he lived this law. By means of his perfect life course, he laid down a pattern for all to follow. (1 Peter 2:21)

Goodlife, actually Paul was the writer – and the man with the ideas – and he never met Jesus, or heard what he had to say. The only reason Paul changed the rules of Judaism was to entice non-Jews into his new religion. That’s why circumcision is no longer required – and that’s why eating pork is now acceptable. I have no idea why I'm even bothering to say this ... but did not Jesus say, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." (Mat. 5:17) ? So I'm struggling to understand all of this stuff about Mosaic Law not needing to be followed by "true Christians". It seems that Jesus Christ didn't see much of a problem with sticking to the old law. Which would appear to neatly tie in with Naomi's suggestion that most modern Christians are "Paulists" really?

Does law of the Christ mean that God has changed his standards? No. Just as a parent will adjust the rules he makes for his children, taking into consideration their ages and circumstances, so with today of true Christians

What is a law, for the most part, do you not see this has do to benefited people with a measure of security, protection and order and an opportunity to earn a livelihood.

And Jehovah knows this. And because government by man is far better than anarchy, God has permitted earthly governments to operate for thousands of years. God made man with a desire for order and with a conscience to distinguish right from wrong.

With most of the nations of earth have embodied some of these principles in their constitutions. In the Bible book of Romans, chapter two, verses 14 and 15, we read: “Whenever people of the nations that do not have law [that is, a law direct from God] do by nature the things of the law, these people, although not having law, are a law to themselves..........

That is why most governments have generally set out with good intent. They have tried to serve for the benefit of the people. They have written constitutions containing fine ideals and principles. And yet, whatever their measure of success, governments everywhere today recognize that the human race is far from enjoying a world of security and peace. Why? God’s Word, the Bible, gives the answer and, far better, it gives the promise that the joyful living conditions of a united world are certain to come, by means of God’s own kingdom, his government for all mankind, and that is why you learn the hard way.

This apples far more to the religious than any other group of people on the planet. It is your "lot" that all "think" the same way.

Religious belief has been popular opinion for millennia Those with the strength to think differently have often been murdered by the believers. Scientists have been killed, imprisoned or threatened with death for daring to contradict the dogma of the Bible.

Yet the evidence of the science has show religious beliefs to have been wrong over and over again.

Goodlife, can you please explain something to me about Jehovah's Witnesses? When they are on my doorstep, they can talk the hind leg off a donkey, yet I have a couple over the road who can barely say hello or even give a surly nod, and a couple next door, who have lived there for 3 years and have never spoken a word to us. If I dare to go out into my back garden when they are out, they immediately shove their daughter inside as if she may be contaminated by my presence. Do JW's think that they are superior in some way? Very un-Christian behaviour if you ask me!
