From the BBC website, “... In his first sermon as Archbishop of Canterbury, he warned against the "hero leader culture" or putting our trust in one person as this can lead to false hope...”

Oh the irony!

"He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy!"
Oh indeed! put brain in gear before engaging mouth. :-)
You can turn much of this around any way you like to suit your own purpose..... this is not uncommon with ecclesiastical principles.

The kicker for me is phrase “false hope”. As if the hope that the Catholic Church gives a person is 'true hope' – a verifiable and provable hope as opposed to an imagined fake hope.

It really bothers me that a supposed educated man can make statements like this in public and not be roundly criticised by the mainstream media for being overtly contradictory and quite frankly moronic.
Birdie, he may be educated but the words horse water and drink come to mind.
i thought it rather odd he appeared, though of course it might have been recorded, on Classic FM over Easter, he hasn't been in the job five minutes, not only that he was on Radio 4 as well i think on the same day, he certainly gets around... I have been trying to think who he reminds me in the looks department, any suggestions?
