If so why do you see people who build all their hopes for the future around what human leaders promise.

And yet the Bible was written, not by Europeans, but by men in the Middle East, in Asia. Yet it is for all people everywhere. It makes no distinction between people on the basis of geographical location, race or color, whether yellow, black, brown or white. In it we find these inspired words of the apostle Peter: “For a certainty I perceive that God is not partial, but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.”—Acts 10:34, 35.

But should you? Without even raising the question as to whether individual leaders are honest or capable, the Bible gets to the core of the matter by reminding us that all of them die, and say “Do not put your trust in nobles, nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs. .........(Psalm 146:3, 4) So, at most, human leaders influence the affairs of a portion of humankind for only a few years. As for long-term security, they cannot give it to you any more than they can provide it for themselves.

Sad all because they don't understood the Bible.

Lifted from; http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110612043219AA9XNxE..............We're on to ya !!

ALL these Bible books (Genesis - Revelation) are in complete harmony with one another. The same THEME runs throughout the whole, namely, that Jehovah God will bring back righteous conditions by his kingdom. The first book, Genesis, tells how a paradise home was LOST because of rebellion against God, and the last book, Revelation, describes how the earth will be made a paradise AGAIN by God’s rule.—Genesis 3:19, 23; Revelation 12:10; 21:3, 4.

So sorry to have to disappoint you all. I am not into yahoo answers, so anything I have has not been copied from there.

What I will say is this, as JW's all speak in unity and in agreement, it is quite likely that you will find identical answers. Quite plainly, the Bible is God's word, nothing you say or think will alter that fact. Jehovah's Witnesses adhere to the Bible, its principles and the fact that it points to God's kingdom as the ONLY solution to mankinds problems.

Who else do you know that can say this, or even believe this? Certainly not the Moslems, or even the Jews. In fact the Jews removed God's name from the Bible.
@goodlife - We are not disappointed to find you are not the poster on yahoo answers - it just confirms that all you JWs eructate the same cut and paste drivel from the same source. An example of close-minded thinking that educates all of us.

What we like on this forum is original content - answers and questions from the person themself, not from a religious organisation that is using such forums to evangelise. And i have already told you the intellectually honest way to offer the JW source - Attribute it! Offer a partial quote, then link to the original.

That way all can see for themselves the likely bias of the post. You and your other "Liars for Jesus" will not do that though, because it allows for independant thought.

As for this last assertion of yours;
" Quite plainly, the Bible is God's word, nothing you say or think will alter that fact. Jehovah's Witnesses adhere to the Bible, its principles and the fact that it points to God's kingdom as the ONLY solution to mankinds problems"

This is the fiction. Nothing - Nothing at all - proves that the bible is "gods word", and no amount of statement by you or other cultists is going to change that.

That the bible represents any kind of solution to the worlds problems is plainly risible. No blueprints in there for a nuclear fusion generator, for example. Only a lot of xenophobia and outright fruitloopery (Leviticus?).

Fortunately for all of us, JWs are a minority, and ineffectual with it....

Have done but was told not to advertise, or its deleted and even ignored
But, Kingdom preaching was Jesus’ primary work; it was God’s purpose for him to advertise this heavenly government that will eventually rid the earth of all unrighteousness, and will see that God’s will is done here. (Matt. 6:9, 10) And Jesus always demonstrated the right view of the work for he true followers.
Do it again then. I doubt it will be removed if presented as I mention.

I think that ridding the world of unrighteousness is a noble goal, and we could do a lot worse than combating the mindless drivel poured into the ether by various religious fundamentalist evangelising drones.. I think I will make that my lifes mission.....
Question Author
If your thinking about fundamentalist they take it all literally, and the higher critic takes it all apart. The fundamentalist contaminates it with paganism, by teaching such doctrines as trinity, eternal torment, purgatory, the cross, and other beliefs taught by pagans long before Christ.

So you see though claiming to build on Bible truth, fundamentalists found their faith on pagan myth. Their misrepresentations of God and Christ cause many to turn away from the Bible.
See www.jw.org
I include the literalist JW interpretation of the bible as fundamentalist, goodlife. All such fundamentalism serves to hold back the development of humanity, from the recognition of human rights, female emancipation, reproductive rights, abortion and all the rest of it.

Jesus said......in all the nations the good news has to be preached first-Mark 13:10 Has this prophecy been fulfilled, Yes Indeed, it has of all those who claim to be Christian, only Jehovah’s Witnesses take the preaching of the good news seriously, and this year the anniversary of Jesus’ death falls on Tuesday, march 26 after sunset. Jehovah’s Witnesses around the world will gather on this special night to observe this Memorial in the manner Jesus requested. You are most warmly invited to join us as observers. Please check with Jehovah’s Witnesses locally for the exact time and place of the meeting.
I think I will be watching paint dry March 26th goodlife but thanks for the offer.
I might set up a chair next to LG...
I suspect the bible was meant to be understood by an elite, which is why they were so put out when it was translated into languages such as English. Klnowledge, even if disputed, is power.
You're quoting from the New World Translation I see. I commend you for that. Yes, the Bible WAS mean to be understood. And, as 2 Timothy 3:16, 17 says: All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.
Jessica, //All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness,//

Ah…. that’ll be why scripture tells us to kill our disobedient children then. Got to admire its common sense approach to the trials and tribulations of life. ;o)

//You're quoting from the New World Translation I see. I commend you for that.//

There you are Goodlife, a rare pat on the back for you – but seeing as Jessica is a Jehovah’s Witness, and is no doubt well aware that you are too, I can’t help thinking her praise may be somewhat manufactured and, hence, disingenuous.
goodlife //the Bible gets to the core of the matter by reminding us that all [earthly leaders] die //

Perhaps you need reminding that there is no evidence the key figures in the Bible even lived, let alone died. All archaeological evidence suggest the stories of the Bible are nothing more than fiction.
Question Author
Jessica @ thank you I like (ERV)which say All Scripture is given by God. And all Scripture is useful for teaching and for showing people what is wrong in their lives. It is useful for correcting faults and teaching the right way to live. 17 Using the Scriptures, those who serve God will be prepared and will have everything they need to do every good work.

//the Bible gets to the core of the matter by reminding us that all [earthly leaders] die //

True, but if you care to examine some of the Scriptural evidence surrounding miracles ascribed to Jesus Christ, what will you find? miracles fact or fiction? Did it matter whether those Christians believed in miracle? Paul goes on to say, If Christ has not been raised up, our preaching is certainly in vain, and our faith is in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:14) No,Paul did not take the matter lightly. Either the miracle of the resurrection of Jesus was true or it was not! And Paul knew that it was true because of the hundreds of eyewitness accounts of people who were still living at that time. In fact, those eyewitnesses were willing to die rather than deny what they had seen.—1 Corinthians 15:17-19. The same today for true christains.
