The thread that I posted re. the video that muslims found offensive enough to justify murderous rampages around the world seems to been removed. Perhaps the Ed. would do me the courtesy of explaining why. As far as I know the UK is not a muslim state and sharia law does not govern our lives. I know it is a good idea to be polite to a madman when he is waving a sword at you, but it hasnt quite come to that yet has it?
If I can't have a debate about a current matter of serious concern, can I at least have a trouble maker badge.

Seems very unbreasonable; perhaps a Fatwah has been issued?

If we can't have a discussion on a discussion website then there is no justification for it's existence, except of course to get income from the ads.
I was quite enjoying that thread.
So perhaps we should not have a topic called religion and spirituality, if all the threads are going to be withdrawn without explanation. And what about Christian sensitivities - will any thread about that be withdrawn? Sorry to be contentious, but - as the saying goes - what's sauce for the goose is also sauce for the gander.
does seem rather strange if it has been.
I blame them atheists!
Oh dear, mike. It wasn't me - 'onest yer 'onour.
Though I disagree with (what I see as) media-inspired anti-muslim hysteria, I think these threads shouldn't have been pulled.
Debate - no matter how heated it can get - is a necessary process, warts and all. Life isn't a fairytale.
Well Mike, it seems to me that it is only the atheists who stand up for your right to free speech.
so it has definitely been pulled, any explanation ?
What you have to realise, jomifl, is that AB is not democratic. Your subject may be ultra current and topical, but if Ed gets the notion that it's too controversial, it gets the hook - Seemples!
"AB is not democratic", yep and it's full of Daily Mail readers - those are the precise reasons why my visits here are sporadic. Shame really - it's a great site otherwise.
how do you know it's full of DM readers, do they all jump up and down and say here i am,
AP, such cynicism! Really, I'm appalled!

Don't be silly. We all know that it's because you've lost your handbag!
got rather away from the point hasn't it, perhaps ED can tell us the reason it's gone.

Perhaps we should have a vote before threads are pulled, then perhaps the Ed. will be more in touch with the 'common' people.
one has to respect the wishes of the people who run this site, but an explanation wouldn't go amiss.
em,

"..an explanation.." ? Now, that WOULD be democratic. Don't hold your breath.
