................and unfortunate enough to have thousands of gullible people to believe in them, and then kill each other to demonstrate the depths of their belief?
He resideth in all things, even in the deadest tree.
For it is written.
Looks more like Brian Blessed.

The image of Jesus that we all know is most likely not correct. Living in that region white skin would be very unlikely and also the long hair.
Also he would probably be 5' tall or less. He was just a wee fella!
part of that face is definitely Mediterranean. The rest seems to have sunscreen, but it is probably sacred oils and things.

His Hole-iness has been found!!
The article says they don't know how it got there, can I suggest an artist with a stick of charcoal.
Things like this really are amazing, and it's not just Jesus' face that appears. He truly does worketh his magic in mysterious ways.

What astonishes me about the gullibility of these people is that they never ask themselves how on earth they manage to know what Jesus looked like. For all anyone knows he might have been short and fat, with a round pimply face and a bald head. If I saw such a figure in a cloud and cried "Look, Jesus!" how many pople would say "Mmm... could be."?

Do they really think that the pious artists who have depicted him in the way that delusionists 'see' him in drying plaster and so on had photographs to work from?

The same applies to 'images' of Mary. Always tall, elegant, with a peaches-and-cream complexion and sometimes blonde (!). Never short and dark , with swarthy features and a Jewish nose (which can be very attractive) and perhaps plumpish from a diet of fatty lamb and olives.
I'm very happy that christians now know what jesus looked like. If it wasn't for a dead tree they would never know.

It's not the verisimilitude of the image that's important. Rather, it's the fact that it appeared at all which heartens believers.
..............especially in the graveyard as a comfort to mourners.........
