Can anyone recommend a reliable dryer that will last a good few years? Had a Hotpoint dryer for just less than 2 years and its not blowing out any hot air! Thanks
Might be worth calling a few repair men and asking for some quotes to fix it. Could work out a lot cheaper than a new one, it might be something simple and easily fixed
I've had a whirlpool condenser dryer for nearly 10 years and no problems, but I do only use it rarely so it probably isn't that old in real terms. The matching washing machine has been used at least daily for the same period of time and apart from a small leak that cost me £50 to repair, I've had no bother with it either. A good reliable make I think.
Creda - would highly recommend them. I replaced my original, which finally gave up the ghost after 29 years, with another, last year and I expect it to last just as long!!
The reset Button may have tripped, some models have them. Important to always clean the Filters as it is one of the Main causes of Fires in Tumble Driers.
2 Years is a very poor performance from a so called reputable make.
I like my Bosch. But tumble dryers are the 4x4 of the home, they consume a lot of energy. Make sure your washing machine gives a good spin (e.g. 1600 revolutions) as this will help the tumble dryer.
I agree that 2 years is very short for a tumble drier. It should be worth trying to get it fixed. I have had mine for very long time so I have no idea about current reliability of brands.
