Get brushed up on your French.

Just when you thought that Britain had collared the 2012 Olympics all for itself, we now find that French is to be the official language in London, with English coming second.

///French will take precedence on all “billboards and pageantry” throughout the capital ///

/// The Union Jack will be flown fifth in precedence, after the Olympic, London 2012, UN and Greek flags.///

Did you need sub-titles to watch the Greek Olympics then?
Why would you think English would suddenly become the preferred Olympic language just because it's held here?
half of us are from French ancestry anyway. Frightening but true.
It's always that way.

that's why you could understand the announcements at the Olympics in Barcelona, Moscow, Los Angeles etc
.
Sacre Bleu! It's always been French first AOG, It's because the founder of the modern Olympics was French.
