Do you ever click on the advert links? I honestly think in 15+ years of net surfing, I've clicked on advert links (like the ones to the right of this screen) perhaps twice.
If there's something I want I tend to seek it out and google it, not see an advert and say 'ooh that looks interesting'.

Someone must be doing it though eh?

Well if they are, it's not me. I'm with you there.
A lot of people around here don't even see the ads, yet alone click on the links!
(Using Firefox, with the Adblock Plus add-on installed, gets rid of them).

You might have a long wait to find anyone who owns up to clicking on the ad links. I've been waiting over 5 years for a response to this question ;-)

I see what you mean Chris. I don't get unsolicited spam myself - my isp has some way of filtering it out. The only stuff I get is from companies where I've actually bought stuff inthe past like Amazon etc.
Can't say I've ever clicked on one as these type of adverts tend to advertise products on the higher end of the price scale, that's why they can afford the adverts.

What is interesting that when accessing AB from another country the doubleclick.net side ads are mostly related to that country.
I have done, but never intentionally.
I've never clicked on ads, always google... My page has no ads, just AB.
The ads are 'pay for click' so the advertisers only pay if and when they are ..
.
So what does AB get out of it from google. Free priority listing?
Any stupid ABer's out there want to answer my question?
Opps, Sorry about that Ludwig. Just got inspired by Chris's unanswered question and thought I was starting my own thread! :o|
I think there are a lot of people who probably do click on them, that's why they have so many of them.
