These ads are so patronising and yet they are just a few decades old, within the lifetime of many ABers. Does everyone see the funny side of these nowadays?

(There's probably a couple of News posters who are thinking "if only we could go back to the good old days")

Is there a British ad amongst them? I'm not suggesting that it did not occur in the UK but the vast majority of those ads are from the US (with at least one from Australia).

Of course the submissive, subservient female stereotype is outdated but have you not witnessed the current British trend of male bashing in advertisements?

it's just a bit of payback and doesn't bother me since I try to avoid all adverts (bit more difficult when at the cinema)

This goes with that wonderful tract about "when your husband's due home from work, put a fresh ribbon in your hair".
