lol....alcohol then...
I lost my first child at 17 weeks pregnancy even though I didnt drink much at all. My friend lost hers at full term, and I know she drank quite a lot. I was determined therefore that I was not going to drink during another pregnancy, which I didnt and it didnt really bother me and I gave birth to a beautiful boy. I dont know whether it would have made any difference, but I wasnt going to risk it. It was worth it . My answer is, Dont take risks. I only wish it had made a difference to my sons drinking !

You didn't drink much at all. How much is that?
I perhaps had a glass of wine at the weekend when I wasnt working. Weve never been big drinkers anyway, which is why I found it easy to give up. I wasnt going to risk losing another baby
Hi there I've been reading on this site for a couple of months and thought it about time that I joined in especially after reading this question.
Any woman that smokes or drinks is effectively poisoning her baby and may risk killing it or having the baby born with severe learning difficulties, or mental and physical disability. For a woman not to give up drink drugs or cigs for a measly nine months is evil and selfish. Now I know a lot of woman may have got themselves addicted to these substances prior to getting pregnant or are going through a horrible stressful time maybe due to money or abusive spouses etc and i totally sympathise but the knowledge of having a precious clean healthy life growing in her womb should be shock and motivation enough to give up, and if they don't want to then I ask the question why get pregnant in the first place?

Then I would say that your alcohol consumption had nothing to do with the loss of your baby....It was a tragic loss :-(

I know someone who drank daily and her daughter has various problems. I wonder if alcohol played a part in them.
No it probably didnt, but I wasnt risking anything. Same with smoking. My OH and me have never smoked so we didnt have to do that too. I understand that it must be hard for some people but as the previous poster said, if you want a nice healthy baby dont be selfish. Its only 9 months of your life and perhaps it may may you give up altogether
the odd glass here and there... no significant amounts.

I smoked with mine....not much, but I kept myself addicted :-(
I had the odd cigarette with my first and not at all with my second and there was 3 ozs difference in their weight at birth. Not a great amount of difference.

Mine were...

7lb14oz two weeks late..

6lb12oz On exact date...

7lb4oz 3.5 weeks early...
My Daniel Spaniel was 11 1bs 7 ozs and 10 days late....

Maybe I should have drunk more ?
I drank as normal (even got blathered on my 21st birthday) and smoked as normal. In those days (40 years ago) you didn't know any better, and certainly weren't told to avoid any types of food. My daughter weighed in at 7lb 7ozs and came on the exact due date, and with no health issues.

You're super human Craft :-)
Ah 7lbs 7 ozs - that's what my Dan Span was. It must have been a typing error - that 11lbs - and no-one noticed !!!!!!!!!!!!
