Do you think my husband and myself who are both mid sixties are too old to work as volunteers in either Africa or India e.g. in a childrens home? We dont necessarily have the qualifications but have plenty of life experience - my husband worked as a social worker, I've been an auxilliary nurse, along with plenty of other jobs and we've brought up a family. I've no idea how you go about such things - any suggestions?

Thanks for replying - having looked I dont think we are qualified enough!
You could google a children's home in say Vietnam and ask them directly, they usually have an e-mail address. I remember reading a book years ago about an English woman who set up an orphinage in Vietnam (very difficult) and she was always welcome to have any help with the children. Can't remember her name but will google to find the book and get back.
and good luck, btw.. lovely gesture :o)
Found it, it's the Christina Noble Children Foundation
