If every Muslim in the country moved to the south west of England, declared their own state and called it Britainastan, a Muslim state with law founded on Muslim principles, it then invited Muslims from all over the world to live there and offered state grants to resettle (funded perhaps by the Saudis), that the facts on the ground with local self determination resulted in the U.N recognising this new state.
Would you resist?
If so, at what point, when, would you accept this eventuality?

Not very likely, is it?
Wouldn't bother me so much but I should imagine the folks in Yeovil will be a little miffed.
Yes I would resist. Keyplus has made my mind up.
Not enough room for all of them.Wales would be better

It's a hypothesis, the likelihood isn't the issue.
What I'm trying to convey is the feelings of the Palestinians, I'm trying to get people to imagine how it would feel if Palestine happened here and what they'd do about it.
its not very likely to happen, but i would probably be a bit.... how can i say.. annoyed that its happening but then i would end up excepting it.
You weren't !
Well, blow me...............!!

I still think the Yeovilians would be miffed but would they start launching RPG attacks on Exeter and Bideford ?

It's a worry...............:o(
Couldn't care a toss as long as they had to show their passports on the M1 and M6 somewhere about Watford AND, they didn't start sending mortars and shelling "my bit".......the Northern part that is.
IF the Ottomans resurfaced and took UK we would be obliged to live accordingly. We spilled blood for u/m victory.

If we wanted a Curry on Sat night we would all have to travel to the Southwest in Bomb proof vests.........
c'mon, some of you are being a bit racist. i understand the palestein feel, but it would long time before they had power to bomb peeps.

I wonder if the answers that are being recorded are based more on the fact that some people dislike Muslims immensely so are disinterested in what happens to them in Palestine, perhaps it is this lack of sympathy that is resulting in this lack of empathy.
Regardless of the likelihood of it happening here, it did happen there, are the Palestinans wrong to be "annoyed" about it?
Are they wrong to resist it?
If they are, would we be wrong to resist such an eventuality here?
It's an interesting concept that I have thought about before.
The christians, buddhists, muslims, hindus, athiests etc. all move to separate areas of the country. This would give them effective control of Local Authorities and City Councils and they could all make local laws to suit their own needs.
It is difficult to see, however, that this self-created ghettoisation of the country would not lead to trouble in the long run.
very interesting indeed. i personally feel its not horible for them to be resisting as much as they do because, as you said, they are only resisting from the things in palestein which happen. anyway, back on the subject, i'm not sure if it would work, there would definately be arguments between the muslims and the other people of the rest of the uk.
You have to be careful about what you say....or you could get branded as a racist.

I feel for the Palestinians.....

Thanks Scotman, I hadn't thought of it that way personally (but it is another scenario), I deliberately chose the south of England in the hope I'd get serious replies, I avoided using Scotland and Wales etc because someone would be bound to say I hate the Scots etc, like I say I did try... Lol
No, they are not wrong to be annoyed about it and they are not wrong to resist it. However, the method by which they resist it is wrong, and I think if they approached it in a more intelligent way and by more civilised and dignified means, they would gain far more sympathy from the world at large. Even though they most certainly have a valid grievance, I have to agree with the person on here who said a few days ago that he would rather live under Israeli rule than Palestinian rule - and that is solely due to the mindset their culture encompasses and promotes.
Sorry, I didn't answer your original question. Yes, I would resist it and I would never consider it acceptable. Like many people, I'm on the side of the Palestinians, but I get a bit miffed when they want to blow people to smithereens. It's a pity they don't recognise that not every western infidel is against them. I'm not sure who is their worst enemy - the Israelis or themselves.
Don't you people think that we have enough homegrown problems without fretting about what is going on in the rest of the world.
^^ No.
