I've put new york for the burgess as I think that explaining Chicago maybe a-level stuff.
Can someone (please) explain to an old befuddled guy just WHAT this thread is about, cause it's gibberish to me! LOL
Question Author
the hoyt and burgess models and diagrams showing the distribution of varying kinds of buildings. So burgess has concentric circles, from centre to outside is something like; bsinesses, factories, working class housing, middle class housing then upperclass housing. But the hoyt model has the businesses in the centre then the factories going outwards in one direction then the working class surrounding them then middle then upper.

I don't know why they are useful but i need to use them in my geography coursework, to see if my home town follows either of them.
Thanks,(I think LOL) for the explanation mollykins.
