You see, the secret is with wives/partners, whatever the modern term is, do not do anything without being told to. NEVER use your own initiative and when instructed, just do what was asked.

Reading all this, reminds me of just how great it is living alone...

I do get told off at the BF's house, and on the boat, for never putting the top back properly on anything. I just let it all wash over me............ and carry on doing it just to wind him up.

On the boat is quite different....there is one captain (male) and you have to do what you are told for the safety of the crew.
