My next door neighbours are alchoholics, their relationship seems based on verbal & physical abuse. I can hear it now through the wall. Is this what you would call a dependance relationship? I think that's the case. The police have turned out so many times its boring! If I was hearing this though the wall when my kids were small I'd go mad!!!

Hmmm
If they are being a noise nuisance, all you can do is keep calling the police until the law decide to take further action. As for their alcoholism, until either of them realise they have a problem, I'm afraid they won't do anything about it. They can only be helped if they want help.

Hi Jock - When they first moved in a few years back, I knew immediatley they were alchoholics. I can't explain it, I told my husband they were, he said rubbish, how can you tell? They had that emaciated / look. Anyway, we had problems with them with loud music, had it out with them & basically said, if you can't sort it we would report them to the council. I don't actually think 'he' should be officially there. It's very likely they have had complaints made about them in past tenancies. Anyway, they quietened down a lot! But, every other week you hear rowing then they make up. What a way to live!
Why is it some people have to wage war so as to have an excuse to make out . . . drrr . . . up . . . make up!
Personally I can't decide which I find more annoying, neighbours disturbing the peace or the fracas of them getting a piece.
