I've been friends with a guy for a few years now and we've always been quite close and enjoy eachothers company. Last summer he asked if i wanted to do something sometime but nothing ever happened and out of the blue he asked again a couple of days ago, i said yes the first time and again this time but i don't really know whats going on and i think if anything does happen will it be arkward around the rest of our friends especially if it ends badly?

He seems quite eager to want you but I think the confidence level is rather low. I would talk to him about your feelings for this step forward but at the same time appreciate it (That's if you do).
If you have feelings for him, you could ask him to somewhere and try to let something happen.
It is probably that you two aren't completely ready for this relationship yet but keep communication up and increase your relationship (Make him laugh or talk about things you both like) and I'm sure something good will happen!

Thanks Jazzman thats really useful i hadn't actually thought about askin ghim to do something i just expected him to if he wanted i think thats because i don't like to feel like im pressuring him into anything.
well it should be natural that you make a friend of someone before a bf, give it a go, if it ends it dosen't neccesarily mean it has to be on bad terms you can still be friends after
