At the Stae opening of Parliament, the house of Commons door is slammed shut to the monarch, then someone, with a stick called 'Black Rod' demands the doors be open and knocks on the door three times with the Black Rod. My question is:
What does the person with the Black Rod do for the rest of the year?

Takes him the rest of the year to repair the door that he just put a hole in.
