I have just been into town and whilst mooching around a shop accidently bumped/ brushed past a crumbly old dear. I immediately said sorry and was she alright etc but she tutted, moaned and glared at me like i had body slammed her into the wall or something. Its not like I elbowed her and just walked off!

How come we impress being polite and gracious on youngster and yet these rude old idiots seem to get away with it ?

Do you sterotype everyone?
might they be lonely, in chronic pain, worried about their family, concearned about money suffering from dementia ?
Hmmm, maybe you bumped into her a few times before and not realised it...
I find a lot, but not all, elderly people live with the victorian attitude of the younger generation should be seen not heard and have respect for them etc. I agree with having respect for them but in my opinion that works both ways.......there are definately some eldery people out there who need to learn to respect the younger generations!
3 stars for anybody who can get blood grouping into this thread. puteridiot came close, can you do better ?
ft, that could be anyone on AB.
There's rude in every generation.

I remember getting on a bus when it was 90 degrees outside and I was nearly full term pregnancy. There was a host of young lads in the local public school uniform on it and a few old men, all the old men offered their seat but not one of the boys. I hoiked a young lad out of his seat.

I can also remember times where old people have been rude. I have an ectremely rude granny and one very nice one.

ARrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh octavius beat me too it
might this older person be rhesus NEGATIVE ?
You forgot the rhesus bit, the monkey connection.
Goody, fine, thanks at least is in gibbon mode.
for lunch i had a banana> am i on the right question ?
Maybe, but are you on this planet?
Rhesus is a blood type, not group.
You should have seen the pond life of youngsters I have just had the pleasure to visit in our high street. Two lads were shouting at each other effing and blinding accross the road. Youngster of 4 abreast not moving for anyone. Then some "thing" with her mobile in the shop shouting down it to some other idiot telling him, she didn't give an effing sh*t. Lovely it was, I am sure her two 3 and 4 year olds dote on her every word!
What's the difference stewey.

Blood groups are probably infections, extraordinarily enough, because white leghorn chicks reared in a sterile environment never develop ABO groups.
whiffey do you mean groups or types ?
some old people are rude and think the world owes them but some are lovely. I love when I'm walking up town and they say good morning, even though they dont know me
I know my answer is not directly linked to the question, but I've just eaten the most heavenly lemon cheesecake which was TO DIE FOR!! I reckon I could eat 20 of them in one sitting and not get bored. But at 322kcal per pot I should probably limit it to 10 tubs.

When i'm an old biddy I fully intend to exploit the fact. If you'd bumped into me, Black Noir, I would have shouted at the top of my lungs "Will you watch where you're going!!??" and then continued ranting about the youngsters of today having no decorum or respect for their elders, making sure that everyone in a 300 metre radius could hear, so that they all tutted at you. HA!
Whiffey, the classifications of human blood are numerous and very complicated. The majority of us are aware of only two: the ABO grouping system, and the Rhesus (Rh) typing system. If you donate blood or require it, you are grouped as A, B, AB, or O; and you are typed as Rh positive or negative. The Rh factor, or term, is used because this typing system is based upon studies performed upon those poor little Rhesus monkeys.
