hello. According to t.v, Barry's are always paedophiles or rapists, Tracy's and sharron's are usually a bit slaggy, etc

Can you please post here other typecast names that you can think of.

Thank you

p.s If you are called Sharron, Tracy or Barry then i apologise on behalf of the television. It's not my fault.

Boobesque's always have big boobs
Ian's are always weaklings, scrawny and have runny noses!!! like Ian Beale! However Ian Wright is an exception!!!
cecil,
graesy hair, skinny glasses , nylon shirts, cheap suit with creased trousers, works as a civil servant, maybe in the library

I think a few cyril's fit that description as well ray!
gordons are always a bit on the ugly side
Henrietta, went to boarding school, appeared in tatler, had a pony when she was 6, speaks with a plum in her mouth, very snobby, married to Giles or Gideon, lives in a regency house in Kensington, two children, Hermione & Gervais, Christ my imagination is on overtime here.
My husband's name is Barrie, boobesque - maybe I should have a closer look at him ;-)
Giles....farmer.
My mum is a Henrietta - brought up in a council estate on cold porridge out of the drawer - no ponies that I am aware of.
annie, Just shows how silly it is doesn't it, we should never pre-judge, my mum was born into real poverty and her name was Louisa Charlotte, and everybody said god your posh, What ? don't think so !!!! :-))
Wayne (or Dwayne) and Darren - always wearing hoodies and menacing people on sink estates.
Arabella - posh totty, like Henrietta
Hi Ray - I think it depends on your generation - My mums brothers & sisters were Charles, George, Margerita, Willamina and Elizabeth - nowadays, you would only find those names in posh neighbourhoods, but pre war, the were pretty common.

On a related theme, i think you can pretty much age people by their names - i.e. most Karens will be about 40 now
Roxanne- usually pretty
Anna - usually fake and two faced
Derek - mostly a troublemaker
Scott - usually short and quiet

annie, You are so right, those names your mums brothers and sisters had were pretty common, amazing eh.they all go round in circles, and I agree with The Karen, theory as well I knew a few Karens years ago. and Gillians.
Your right Ray, I forgot about the Gillians - and Yvonnes, Kevins, Grahams Lorraines and Shirleys. mind you, there must be a whole group of Kylies, Jasons etc all in their late teens/twentys.
Gus ~~ of the gangster type.

In the 1980's when Dynasty was on TV, I lived near a rough council estate. For a short while, nearly every baby girl born on the estate was named Crystal. I can imagine that they are now all adults with about 10 kids each, all to different fathers.
There was something in the papers recently about teachers having preconceived ideas about new kids at school, depending on their names. Waynes and Darrens were expected not to do well at school apparently.
There are some names I dislike simply because I knew girls at school who had those names. There was a nasty gang of bullies called Julie, Mandy, Debbie & Tracey and I always feel wary if I meet someone who has one of those names.
lee was popular in the 80's as well
well i would like to think i was a great laugh more than slaggy ,never really got labeled with that name most of my mates lable me with mad as a hatter and a demond for the lash up ie drink how ever janet the ganett and treasa the geezer and leslie lastic legs are a different matter
lee and darren are the two names that I would never have called my children .... from my childhood these names have always turned the boys into hooligans ( I love the names and no offence meant)
