Reports of a cat that has given birth to a dog have been doing the rounds with people in China over the last couple of days. Its owner comments that "it looks very different from the other kittens, and its mouth, nose and paws are all dog-like". Judge for yourself whether this is a genuine miracle. Some people have argued that it is simply a dog in a cat's basket. Have you heard of any similar examples of strange stories like this?

NO WAY has that cat given birth to a dog!
It's a little bit late for an April Fool's joke isn't it !
these sort of stories are usually made up by simpletons who are usuallly believed by the population of small, villages with little knowledge or contact with the outside world.
they believe their say-so is enough to be be believed.
they probably earn a few quid in the story, but as soon as it leaves the village and gets to educated people, the story rather falls apart, as even if it weren't a physical impossibilty, it is still only their word.

i have heard similar stories quite a few times.

Yeah, but if I remember correctly China is also the place that sold lambs, to gullable people, as poodles. Hundreds of the things were sold before someone thoughtfully told them that they couldn't trim their toes as they had infact got hooves not paws!
I reckon someone has been watching too many cartoons.
