Jesus Christ  —God, Man, or Myth?
On the other hand, we should be eager to learn about a Jesus, who is alive and who is empowered by God, to bring lasting benefits to mankind. Evolution Undermines Faith. In advocating evolution, with whom do the clergy ally themselves, and what published statements show whether they are aware of it or not. Religious advocates of evolution thus join hands with atheistic communists whose avowed aim is to root out faith in God, In what ways is man more wonderfully made than the animals, (Genesis 1:27, 28), Then, of course, there are the leaders of false religion who preach from the Bible at times and yet live contrary to its teachings or come forth with philosophies such as “God is dead” or that the virgin birth, of Jesus is a myth or that the creation account in Genesis is a fairy tale.

I would argue that it is perfectly possible for a virgin to conceive.

Fertilisation requires only the presence of sperm, and it does not require penetrative intercourse to place sperm within access to an egg.

Mary was a good Jewish girl, andy-hughes, and unmarried.  They don't get anywhere near sperm.

//Jesus Christ  —God, Man, or Myth?  //

No - he was just a very naughty boy!

Locust, ps.  I've seen several pyramids in several countries.  They really do exist.

Naomi - // Mary was a good Jewish girl, andy-hughes, and unmarried.  They don't get anywhere near sperm. //

My respone was to barsel, but because I was on my mobile, I was unable to paste his response to show what I was arughing with -

// Sorry I can't read all of these posts and I don't expect anyone to read mine, but can I just say that the virgin did not give birth to a child as it's just not possible?

A virgin cannot grow a child in her body. Unless that was another miracle. //

That is patently untrue, as I pointed out.

With regard to Mary being a 'good Jewish girl ...' since our joint rebuttal of locust's tiresome preaching is, as you pointed out, that no-one actually knows what went on, I would suggest beig wary of letting your own imagination influence your responses. You don't know what sort of 'girl' Mary was, so it's not accurate to suggest that she would not have indulged in pre-marital sex. Customs of the time suggest it was unlikely, but that does not render it impossible, and we don't know, so we can't say.

Well, that missed it's mark.  Obviously I think Mary had a dalliance with her fiance.

If your post was intended to be sarcastic, then it did indeed miss - one of the prices we pay for written communications - meanings can get lost in translation.

My apologies for my misunderstanding.

I am sure it will not affect locust's continiual denial of simple logic and physical evidence, or the lack of it, as a fervent of the first order, he is immune to such things that divert him from his chosen mindset.

No problem.  Just my little joke.

I haven't personally visited the pyramids in Egypt, but the present Mrs Hughes has, and I am happy to take her word for it that they are actually there - she is very truthful person.

I have to agree with her.

naomi - // I have to agree with her.  //

And your assertion underlines my belief, I have always found you to be a similarly truthful individual.

I doubt if locust will be convinced though!!

He seems only to believe something only exists if he has seen with his own eyes.

Oh, hang on ....

Very kind of you to say so.  Thank you for that.

Yes, I doubt if you will convince me of your rubbish .that you put your trust in. With the Atheist. That there is possibly. There is no god. Or he did not do any miracles. Just as Jesus did in his time in Jerusalem when he cured many people

You think this is just stories or a myth of the people through the centuries, but I assure you there are many people like myself who believe in the Miracles that Jesus performed through his father the Creator. Many people are blindfolded to the message which is being given to day about the collapse or the chaos of this world, you can see for your own eyes was going on around you. Which has been four told many. Years before our time, the prophecies are coming true down to our day and with the chaos. The wars the pandemics the earthquakes the tsunamis and the destruction. Which are being told to us by the news today. And this is helping us who believe that this system is coming to his fulfilment. But so many people are blind. To the message and just say oh these happen b

Locust - As I predicted, absolutely zero change in your preaching position.

At least you are consistent. But.then again, a stopped clock is always right twice a day

Locust, why are you addressing me but quoting something someone else has written?

Not one single question from you on my earlier post.  Not even a hint of curiosity as to how I reached my conclusion.  And you say you investigate  everything?  I don't think so.

Actually, locust, you sound quite put out.

Natural disasters have been happening since long before men trod the earth. Who prophesied them?

oh - that's right, they didn't need prophesying - they JUST HAPPEN!

Believing things that don't exist is not without consequences. Much of what it happening currently in the middle east is attributable to believing things that simply are not true, disagrements reguarding what is real and the conflicts that arise from such disagrements. People are dying and being killed from the spreading of beliefs that are unsupportable and completely irrational.

Naomi24 15:16 Fri 05th Jan 2024 Not one single question from you on my earlier post.

Locust, why are you addressing me but quoting something someone else has written?

That is untrue, I've tried to answer. All your questions, so if I've missed them, or you have not received them. Give me another question and I will try to answer it in all honesty

It is ironic isn't it how we can misrepresent each person in the way they write their answers the interpretation, and we must learn not to judge people in what they are saying but to try to understand what they are talking about and not jump the gun before it explodes because this god damage people's reputationlet me try to explain once again what I really meant in talking about existence like the pyramids someone suggested that I was not looking into or representing the Old manuscripts which I have done I try to put a link to some of these things, but maybe you miss them for example One authority of the Jewish religion and the story and namely Joseph Who written about Jesus in a little way, but it does prove that Jesus did exist in Jerusalem had one point of time and his death secondly Mary who gave birth to Jesus was macro as a miracle Jesus was born through Holy Spirit not by humans spirit as you suggest is correct, and it seems like some of the answers I gave and has not been read or misinterpreted therefore as you can see interpretation of one's reasoning can cause a misunderstanding so we have to be careful in what we say or write

Good luck with that naomi, I couldn't make head or tail of it!!
